The Nevada Geographic Information Foundation is a nonprofit 501c3 organization that awards competitive scholarships to students pursuing education and training in geospatial technologies.
Scholarship applications are accepted year-round. Successful submissions are selected periodically for a $500 award during regular intervals throughout each calendar year. A completed application form and supporting documentation should be submitted electronically as a compressed ZIP file. Applicants will be contacted when their submissions are received.
Purpose: The NGIF Scholarship Award supports a student pursuing coursework in which they make use of geographic information technology. The award encourages students to explore and make use of recent developments in geospatial technology and to further incorporate spatial analysis in their educational pursuits.
Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for the award, interested students must be enrolled in a certificate program, undergraduate or graduate program focusing on geospatial technology. Applicants are required to provide a project description that summarizes the work that was performed, as well as any supporting documentation including, but not limited to, cartographic output, sample code, screen shots, and a discussion on the approach and analysis techniques used.

Annual Giving Campaign
The Annual Giving Campaign has been established to assist in covering a portion of a student's college expenses. Gifts to the campaign supplement everything from books to housing, while helping student's sustain their academic path to GIS excellence. The campaign also assists in defraying tuition increases in subsequent years.
Your donations, whether large or small, will help promote GIS through the Nevada Geographic Information Foundation. Every gift counts and makes a difference. High rates of participation say much about the commitment of the Nevada GIS community to the work the GIS community does for education. Also, your giving can make a difference in your own tax status: all gifts to the Annual Giving Campaign are fully tax-deductible according to the IRS.
The Annual Giving Campaign runs all year, and gifts are welcomed and appreciated at any time. Since the success of the Annual Giving Campaign factors into the decision about future scholarships, we appreciate gifts made as early in the year as possible.
